Cossey's Creative Process
Keith's work is evolving through expressions and juxtapositions of multiple times and multiple spaces in his images. Variations in light, movement, changes in weather, changes in seasons are played with to give a sense of an everchanging, dynamic environment. The final image is a product of his photographic and artistic skills, perceptions, emotions and imagination.
Fine art photography involves a healthy mix of art, poetry, spirituality, psychology, science and technology. It's involves:
- how a photographer reflects upon their environment and uses their eye to find and communicate interesting, compelling and
engaging images,
- light and colour and how the eye perceives and the brain processes,
- how a camera captures light energy, converts it to electrical energy and stores it as a digital image,
- how computer hardware, software and printers work together to produce the highest quality printed images,
- the chemistry of ink and how specialized paper receives, reproduces and retains images, and
- how the heart and the spirit are moved by the metaphors and symbols suggested by images.
Phantoms of the Forest Series celebrates the sacred, symbolic, ecological and economic values of trees and forests. The energy and vibrancy of new life and resurrection is captured and expressed visually.
Figmenta Imaginationis Series (figments of the imagination series) explores a creative and poetic process that produces images that are surreal, mystical and mysterious with a touch of divine comedy.
All work meets high standards of quality and longevity with archival materials used and great care taken in production and handling. Large prints (over 12" X 18") are limited to 10 or less prints.
